Hi there,

I'm Hawkeye. I've been bitten by the Lincoln Cent bug. I've collected off and on since I was a kid, but consider myself a rookie that's re-entering the hobby. My goal right now is to complete a set (I'll worry about varieties later), with the Holy Grail (1909 S VDB). I know there are more difficult and expensive coins to find, but it's the one my Dad and I never found. Even though he's gone, I'd like someday to make that find (or purchase if it comes down to that) for him.

Have fun building your set and I hope you do find the 09' S VDB. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi:
And welcome to LCR - My daughter and I started in May 2008 and we have finished our Lincoln set (we still need a 1922 plain and a 1955 double die). Go to the bank and ask for a 25$ box of pennies and start looking. First get a redbook and some holders a good magnifying glass - check out LCR site and Coopercoins and Coneca.
Sounds like a lot - but it is worth it. My daughter and I recently found two very rare 1972 double dies a die1 and a die4.
Good luck
Roger

You managed to find 1909-S, 1909-S VDB, 1914-D and 1931-S? Congratulations!
