Hi:
Found another 1972 with obverse "stuff."
What might it be?
Thanks

Looks like it was struck thru a small piece of rag or cloth up by "IN GOD" and on part of the rim and the rag had strings coming off on it and they were struck into the field around Liberty. If it is it would be a nice example Roger.

Could be someone who messed with it. Like my friend showed me a coin he found that had a small J.F.K face stamped onto the right side of it. Maybe the stamp has been warn away. Just an idea but not likely that it's the problem.

The JFK punch is an example of what is called a counter-stamp. They are a novelty and not worth much.

This coin appears to be struck through cloth or string.

Yeah that's what my friend told me. But still it's kinda cool to own one. ;)

I agee w/ Brad but will add .. A Struck Through LC is very collectible, especially to LC error specialists.

Definitely a keeper. Nice find.
