Your photo is really good! The 3 and 9 have taken hits from circulation wear (PSD) post strike damage. But the piece of metal to the right of the date is a Lamination Error and the line above that area (where it is indented) is where the LAM has fallen off the coin. Nice example!
Here is the definition with a photo in our Glossary http://www.lincolncentforum.com/terminology-list-l/
Also, take a close look at Lincoln's eye on your coin and see if you are seeing this extra eyelid. Here is a link to the listing for this https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...&die_state=mds
Thanks. I have a lot to learn and appreciated the feedback. Been looking at several threads and learning a lot. This is a good place.
I can't tell if it's a scratch or extra. Good find. Need stronger magnification. I will keep pursuing
Okay, gotcha! Definitely label that one "possible extra eye lid" Here is the scope I'm using and also TPring has one. The price has gone up a little, got mine on Amazon for around $80. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...ro.html?sts=pi
here's the thread http://www.lincolncentforum.com/foru...Microscope-Pro
Edit: Actually I failed to mention, Ray was the first person on the forum to purchase the Celestron and he spent a lot of time testing it and helping us determine how to get some very nice photos out of it. Sorry Ray... it has been a long day :squigglemouth:
And, if you are up for spending a little more for a much better quality product, Ray Parkhurst of our forum has a great deal here (sorry it took me a minute to find the thread)

Nice pic and Lamination!
It does look like a lamination... By the looks of it the hit caused the lamination to dislodge!!!
