Hello LCF,
Looking for thoughts on this 1991 LMC that seems to have a weak strike on the last "1" of the date. Sorry about the reverse picture clarity. Probably doesn't make a difference anyway.
Feedback appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks,
It looks like a struck through grease filled die. Here is a link to the glossary on this site. (http://www.lincolncentforum.com/term...list-s/#Struck Through)
Cool... I think it may be a combo of a struck thru grease and dies wear... There is a ridge ring developing, most visible across IGWT, the VDB has the tips of the letters worn away and there are some fairly decent die flow lines around the perimeter of the obv!!!
I gotta say that obverse photo is fantastic [lighting, tone, coloring, detail...] -- Very professional-looking.
Kinda looks like it is the size of a hockey puck.
Though his eye socket looks odd. :)
One of the first things that gets me to like it is that it has fairly wide square rims (does not mean it's special or anything) but it makes the obv look better. Some of the older cents have that look like around 1920 with a wide rim.Quote:
