Hello Sheila! Nice to see you! That portion that is raised at the top left portion of the ear is odd looking. I'm really clueless... my best uneducated guess is some kind of die damage. Will be interesting to see what the guys say!
Edit: Right above that raised area above the ear looks sunken to me, is it?

Maybe the top part is a dent from a hit and the lower raised part is metal moved there from the hit above then it was worn.

That is kind of what I wondered also. The only reason I was really questioning it, is because of how much it is moved over and how far it extends out into the hair.

Nice pics Sheila! I would have to agree with the damage. I've gotten to where I don't even hold onto worn coins I have questions about. If I cannot definitively tell, I will let them drive me crazy.:squigglemouth:

I do that a lot. I throw almost all of them back, but I seem to have a nack for finding some of the most odd ones that drive me nuts. Lol!

We can not go nuts as we are already there :LOL_Hair: Looks like there may have been a chip that got hit then circ wear has worn it back down... Lots of circ wear on all the high points both obv and rev... Almost looks like some one used it as a stress coin :LOL_Hair:
