I'm not sure so I'm not going to jump to conclusions. Lmao
Never the less it's an interesting coin! So double die or machine doubling , or maybe a combination of both??

A little fuzzy but would have to say all MD from what I see.
It looks like it put a shelf in the normal ear that reduced the normal size of it minus the step so that would be MD.
What is causing the "third collar" in line with bottom of his hair? It doesn't really look like a linear plating blister.
Looks strong shelf-like MD is my guess, anything going on with the Lettering? With a shift that strong it will show in other area as well.
I would also think MD... The ear looks like it is a ramp from south to north giving the appearance of an extra lobe... The other areas cut into the design and appear shelf like... If you could get a clearer image that may help a bit???
Hi Guys, Newbie here! Question if this is MD then wouldn't it show an extra eyelid? I don't see any trace of that.
Welcome to the LCF... MD is strange... There are examples of isolated MD on a single device to MD on every device... It all depends on the event that causes the MD to occur... Loose dies and die wear are just a couple of the items that can affect the MD... In this case the eyelid was not involved... Hope that helps a little!!!
A doubled eyelid is not a definitive indication of MD.
There are many early wheats and even some memorials where a doubled eyelid is a true DDO.
Here is just one example of a true DDO doubled eyelid on a 1944. (thank you Must be Bob and CopperCoins)
