I have this 1928S slabbed by PCGS and it is mislabled. First it is a Large S, hard to find and 2nd it looks to be a 1MM-002
S/S/S North/South.
What do you think? http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mds

It is not mislabeled Frank, it merely doesn't tell all. It is definitely a large Mintmark, and it does appear to be RPM-002, but unless the grading company was asked to put that info on there, then they would just grade and return the coin.

Okay Bob. Thanks for the info. I kinda thought that but wasn't sure.

Interesting i wonder what mine is. How much of a premium does it hold? I was looking at Lincoln Resource S mint marks and it looks like just the middle of the S is wider. is that correct or is there more too it.

Holding this coin in hand I can say the whole S is larger. As far as price I'm not sure. My new book will be here any day and then I could answer the question.

I can look in mine when i get home. Thanks to Chris just been to busy to read much of anything since the new baby. I'm sure mine is a small S.
The market for 1928-S FS-501 (Lg S) is all over the board. There are multiple dies that produced the Large S, including RPM #1. In general, a F/VF example will bring $12-18. I've sold a slabbed XF for as much as $60. In AU58 (slabbed) they will bring anywhere from $60-120, depending on what market you sell it through. I have 2 MS examples I just sent off to get slabbed- one is MS62 RB and one in MS64 RB. I expect the 62 to be about a $180 coin, maybe a little more and the MS64 RB should go for around $800. 1928-S is a tougher coin in better mint state grades and a normal MS64 RB is about a $500 coin.
