    1955 die #2 (Wexler stage a)

Here is 1955 DDO-002. When I noticed that this had some doubling in the ear, I checked online references to see if I was crazy. While doing so I found that I had forgotten that I had sent my die #2 to Wexler several years ago and he added it to his files as his stage A. Anyway, I res-hot the coin and illustrated below.

There is doubling in the motto, LIBERTY, a little on the last 5, the ear, eye and I think the upper profile (forehead and top of nose).

I have a couple also, one is MDS, the other MLDS. I remember searching for one for decades, then finding the two I have within a couple of weeks of each other. Imagine what this one would be worth if it weren't for DDO-001??

    Such is the case with so many others. 1972 dies 2, 3, 7 & 8 - 1936 die 3 - 1983 ddr 2 - 1971 die 2 & 3 - even 2011 dies 6 & 8 and so on.
