Here is 2 more Counterfeits Purchased on E-bay 1925 S and 1927 S. Both have identical reverse's as the 1911 S & D from earlier post. Notice the pattern on the left ear.And the Rims are not smooth like normal cents. This particular type counterfeit is showing up with Cents on the Lincolns from 1909 to 1955. Source also notes made to order so it won't be long until even the Shield's wont be safe. They also sell real silver Counterfeits. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/grou...255899908.html http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...230211649.html
Hello Cranky - thanks for the pictures with reverse showing the die chip on inside of left wheat above the U in UNITED. Do you recall the eBay Seller names? I want to add them to my personal "Do Not Buy List".
My current list of eBay sellers who have sold coins with the chinese duplicate/copy signature die chip on inside of left wheat above the U in UNITED include:
These were reported to eBay and eBay did not acknowledge or respond in any fashion. Sellers were contacted and they either did not reply or indicated that they did not know much about coins or did not understand what the problem was. One seller (glinicastore) indicated that if eBay did not complain there was no reason to stop selling the coins.
Astronomy is my passion and my number one collecting interest is with coins that bear astronomical iconology. In this particular hobby, you have to study before you buy. There are so many fakes out there.
One of my favorite spots is in Turkey, near Ephesus. There are many kiosks set up by the Roman ruins. They brazenly sell their wares with claims like this...
And I see lots of people buying these things left and right.
It's kind of funny and sad all at the same time.

Looks as if he as in Paul is already on your list. Still no reply from him this time. He did at first seem apologetic. But after reading and seeing several new post on his feed back. I lost faith in what I thought was a remorseful excuse. AstroRaider Say's it all. Except I thought San Juan was the capital of Rolex. Genuine fake!! At least the sign is honest. On this auction the coins that he had showing were altered or switched I believe except the 25 and 27 S which I seen after my purchase and still sent. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1925-S-wheat...p2047675.l2557

Looking through my collection and found this. Do not know how long I have had this. The date is not the same as my other 1912's. The weight is 2.9g. The surface is slightly pitted in areas, and the rim is beveled on both sides.
In regards to if the cent has the die chip error on the reverse, seen on some older Chinese copy/duplicate coins, can you provide a close up picture of the reverse left wheat area above the U in UNITED (see attached for area involved).
