I've been looking at cents for about a month after I found a clashed die coin. Do yall (yes I'm from the south) look at every coin you get, both sides or just the ones in published list? I have so far looked at about 1500 coins and I have 24 pounds coming from a friend. What steps do you take when you get a lot of coins at one time?
Welcome to the forum! It certainly doesn't hurt to look at everything. If you take the time to check the date and see if it is published, you might as well look at the coin. Once you get comfortable with it and know what to look for, it take just a few seconds per coin.
That's a great clash you have there. Some of the best and strongest clashes were from the mid 80's. Good luck on all your searches. Be sure to keep us informed on the searches!

(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
Thanks for the follow up... Fairly good full pic for a first post... A little blurry when I zoomed in to 175%... Looks like the mint did its best to remove the clash... Lots of abrasions... Are there any clash remnants on the rev???

I prefer to gather enough to make-up a few hundred of each year and then sort them by mint. Then I consult my library for what to look for in each year/mint and keep the best few to compare with those I have already kept in my collection for possible upgrades.
Welcome to the LCF! Nice to see another Alabamian! We may be the only 2 Lincoln searchers in the State...whoo hoo more for us! Nice die clash! Roll Tide or War Eagle?
