    1982 D Die Cracks

    Additional Information
    Date: 1982 D

2 die cracks. 1982 must have been a bad year for the mint, I have found more unusual looking coins in that year.

Cool find... 82 was the year the mint switched over from solid Lincolns to the copper plated zinc... IMHO I think they were still trying to figure out the correct pressure needed to effectively strike the new material resulting in over pressure strikes making the dies fail prematurely!!!

Yep, 82 has plenty of die cracks, and it seems like 1983 may have the most die cracks and die clashes of any year. Does anyone know those stats?
