Probably PSD that you can find in the glossary (http://www.lincolncentforum.com/terminology-list-p/). It is not uncommon to see impressions from other coins. Excellent pics!!

Or could it be dropped letters?... And what looks like a C is part of an S?
Would a struck thru greasy gunk dropped letters be incused?

I think it's damage because it has a tiny bit of metal smeared sort of over the inside rim edge at the base of the U.

It would be virtually impossible for 2 dropped letters to appear on the rim. Looks like damage.

The rim on the rev looks to be flattened so I am on the PSD train... Looks like some one may have tried their hand at a garage job!!!
