Awesome looking LCR and Coneca top list RPM! Larry J. did you dad use a magnifier and find these years ago, or did he just love wheat cents and saved every one he came across? All of your dad's wheats are in such nice condition, he must have been fortunate to find them early in circulation and kept them in a safe place just for you!

He had a very primitive hand held magnifier that people would use to look at the newspaper, maybe 3 to 5x. I don't believe he even knew about DDs 0r RPMs. He just checked his change throughout the years and had a nice collection of all circulation coins in Whitman books. Thanks for your interest Vivien!! I hope to pass mine on to my children. I'm in the process of dividing it all up three ways for my children. Larry J

Okay that is what I was thinking Larry J, how cool is that! The family I work for, the mother/grandmother is in her 70's... she has the exact big round magnifier that is on a stick (best way I know to describe it) well, it's in her desk drawer. Whenever she gets change she pulls that magnifier out of the drawer (and it's got finger prints all over it) and looks at her pocket change! I just adore her anyway but the fact that she loves coins is really awesome to me!

Excellent find Larry... As strong as the lower bar and serif of the secondary MM are on yours it looks to be EDS/Stage A... VV has stages A thru G http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20R...958DRPM001.htm listed and the lower bar and serif get weaker with age!!!

(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
