Nice looking stuck thru... Is the plating torn at all... It doesn't look like it but the image looks pretty much the same color to me... Unless my color vision is going now

(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
Somewhat resembles a struck through rim burr, but it impossible to be certain what it is.
Rim Burr: This is a form of pre-strike damage to the rim caused by the feeder finger, whereby a portion of the proto-rim is “sliced” or “gouged” up and subsequently struck into the coin face. The burr can be still partially attached to the rim, or can be completely detached and struck into the coin face in any location and orientation. Many of these are being found recently on shield cents. Photos courtesy of forum member Jacob.

Jim, tried to get some shots from the side but was having an issue with it. It is definitely raised. I tried a toothpick on it and it's solid. There would appear to be no broken areas anywhere around the base. I does look like there are a couple of blisters starting on top of it though. It would also appear to be the same color as the rest of the coin.

Thanks for the info Will! Very cool looking error and I could see how that might have happened here. It looked like most of the rim burrs are much more narrow but who's to say it didn't get flattened out in the process.
