Sold for $58.02 on 20 bids... Not all that bad of a coin... With the gunk removed there will be some good size holes remaining but it still shows the DDR... It would make an ok hole filler in a set until a better one comes along... I think 58 is about 20 to high IMHO... Thanks for the heads up Frank!!!

They might be the most major zinc doubled die but being on the reverse and being fairly recent makes it hard to price them.
It seems like they're pretty rare based on numbers graded.
My gut feeling is that over time even the ugly ones have a bright future.
Found one of these maybe 20 years ago; it had zinc rot right into the core of the reverse. Up it up on ebay also don't recall what I got out of it, more than it was worth.

Ah, well. There's a coin shop I found in town recently, like a block away. Maybe I can sell off some of my other goodies and have enough to get one eventually.
The '83-p DDR-001 is like the One Ring to Gollum for me...my preciousssssss!

I found this one in circulation a few years back while roll searching. Only one I have ever seen! Immediately had it graded and slabbed. It was a heart stopper when I placed it under the microscope
It is also my avatar. I will say I just noticed that it looks a lot duller in this pic and in the slab. I hope its just a light issue. Can they degrade while in the slab?
