    Strange Canada Cent damage

Posted to be dismembered. Could this have happened in the striking process?

That is crazy looking!! Nice find! It looks like it was flattened out and folded over but it couldn't be where it's both the obverse and reverse.

I sort of think it's damage because it looks like on each side it has an imprint of another coin on one half then the opposing half is smashed on a flat surface (like they did the same thing but reversed on both sides of the coin) and it has regular rims where it's not damaged so it was struck in collar but then the damaged areas look smashed when not in a collar. That's how I see it but it's pretty odd looking.

That's my thought but it would be good to get Mikes input.

Unless you are rotating the coin 90 degrees, the rev appears to be rotated??? I agree with Mike Diamond taking a look!!!

Crushed between two cents (both placed off-center relative to the photographed coin) and two metal plates. Not an error.
