Looks like abrasions to me but I am not sure... Vivien has found many more trails than I have so she should be able to help us out!!!
Thank you Jim! I agree with Jim and enamel, these are die polishing abrasions. Here is a link to a 1993D with reverse trail lines, you can see how they extend from the corners of the devices.
Thanks Viv!! These things are killing me!! I want to find one sooooo bad!!
The really strong ones on Pre-Shield cents are easy to spot. On Shield cents you can find them easier if you hold the coin in your hand as opposed to flat. In your hand you can move the coin around at different angles to the light and they pop out better. You will find one!!
Jon, one thing that has helped me see things at an angle with my scope (since I used to search everything with the coin in my hand)
I folded an index card in half, then folded up one end of the card to form a lip. That way I can hold the index card up at an angle and the coin won't slide off. Once you get the card at an angle, then re-focus. This would work for you if your scope is mounted on a stand.

That's a cool idea!! My scope actually angles, goes up and down and then has the fine focus but I think the software may be my weak point. I actually really like the mount it's on though. I'll take a pick of it and post shortly.
