    split planch?

    1964 is this is a split or some kind of damage?

    If you are talking about the anomaly in "America", that's a stain.

    This is a great example of the OP providing more information for us to help.
    There is lots of circulation wear/damage, some staining, and
    that inverted arc under OF AMERICA as well as something at the center top of the columns over the statue.
    What year is it? Full image obverse and reverse?

    Looks like a stain to me also... Looks like something had been stuck to it for a long time and has since been cleaned!!!

    Looks like a stain, if there was a crack it would probably show on the rim. This looks like a stain and then circulation cleaned it off the rim since it's higher.
