    Answered: 1974 s over d penny error? (Am I in right thread?)

  2. "I don't see those as weak strikes Jim. I would say they are normal strikes with maybe a bit of die wear and circulation wear. Weak strikes tend to have mushy devices and not much detail on the profile. Yours seems to have plenty of detail on the profile."

    I don't see any reason to think there's a d under it.
    The little sort of diagonal line in the lower loop is part of the punch and I think it's the punch with doubling but it doesn't show on yours.
