Found this 1911d in a roll from one of my regular sellers.
Have never found an 11 D in a roll before, let alone one that is in AU grade.
The reverse has a few issues with staining and some contact marks but overall I was very pleased.
Thanks for looking. Cliff
Edit: Not sure how this ended up in Q&A.
Supposed to be general discussion. Hmmmm.

Reason: Whoopsy.
One of the last coins I sent for grading was a nice 11-D. Still had red around the rim and date and luster. I thought MS63BN.
Grading brown coins is hard and the toughest grade range to predict is AU58-63BN.
One friend offered to let it go to PCGS with his sub but I sent it to NGC hoping it had a better chance to be 63.
I was thinking AU58 very worst case and expected 62-63BN.
It came back from NGC EF45 and every time I look at it I'm puzzled why!

That stinks. Yeah, I would have expected NGC to have gotten higher also.
