Cliff, I was referring to the fields of the coin earlier about the satin finish, not the rim. It was just the rim pics that showed it.

That's why I posted links comparing the Satin and regular strikes. Even the business strikes posted on the PCGS site seem to have some "hit and miss areas" that are very lightly satin. Mine seemed to show the same.

Notice the pops in your links.

On the satin, there are 950 MS68RD and 1237 MS69RD and 19 MS70RD.

But on the regular ones there are 7 MS68RD, zero MS69RD and zero MS70RD.

So that's what I was saying. Roll searchers were finding high grades in rolls so they knew they are not really the special mint set coins (unless mixed in) then when sent for grading they came back as the satin finish. That's why there are no 69-70 of the regular coins and people were upset to get their "normal" coins back with that label (because a regular label 69-70) would be worth a fortune.
In reality, it seems like the TPGs don't care if it was in a mint set or not, if it's satin they called it a special strike satin. Apparently nobody found a truly PL in high grade like 69-70 and only 7 managed to find MS68RDs.
