Searching a single customer roll results in some strange finds.

The head teller at my bank recently agreed to save all the rolls of pennies that customers bring in as long as I pick them up every Wednesday morning. My planned fishing trip was cancelled yesterday because of the rain and high winds so I spent most of the day searching rolls. I am accustomed to finding an occasional foreign coin in rolls but this one was different. The entire roll appeared to be foreign coins until I checked them all and found two US Three Cent pieces included. I guess the person who collected the coins only looked that the reverse of the three cent pieces and assumed they were foreign. It made my day!

Those are neat finds! I think both of those dates come in silver or coppernickel, but the little silver ones have the star on the obv.

Nice find in customer rolls. Love going through rolls that customers bring into the bank. I ask my tellers for customer rolls every time i go into the bank.

    Congrats on your find

Very cool finds for sure!! I've messed a little with the shield nickels but not at all familiar with the 3 cent piece. Those are a fantastic find searching Lincolns!!
