At first I just thought it was a worn die but the more I looked.... I have also put up pics of Bob's markers in case that is what I have but I don't think so.

The inits are really interesting... The problem I have is on the LB the notching is on the NW corners and on JFM on the NE corners??? Does not look to be the Bob DDR-001... Need some more folks to chime in!!!

Check out the "R" in AMERICA and the notching on the shield letters Jim. Sorry the pics aren't any better, had a time with this one.

I'm sorry Jon, I have to agree with Jim that this does not look like Bob's DDR discovery I'm just not seeing the extra thickness, especially on the B. Normally I would ask how does EPU look, but I have since learned that distortion there is not always an indicator.

Thanks for looking Viv!! I actually did not think it was Bob's DDR. There is what looks to me to be extra thickness in many of the letters and also notching in several places. You can se E PLURIB in the shield pic, not sure about distortion but something is going on there.

Yes, I see what you are talking about the extra thickness in some of the letters, like the R especially. I know how frustrating is it when you can see this and can't get it to show up in pics! Maybe a good one for Jim to look at for you?

That's a good idea Jon, the 85P too! Yeah, I feel ya on the pic thing... I struggled on the last few I've taken and I think the heat plus work is just zapping energy!

Your pics are fine Jon... The SE corner of the T of CENTs vertical bar looks like a hit to me??? Looks like damage in line with the notch... There is also some plating issues on AMERICA that makes it look like extra lettering??? The R has also taken a good hit across both legs... To me everything else looks to be normal for die wear???
