Answered: Hello, I was wondering if anyone has seen a State emblem on a lincoln before?

I've looked at a lot of pennies and haven't seen one of these before. I tried to take decent pics because I thought someone may have stamped it after the fact. But looking closer it looks raised to me like the date ect. just not as pronounced. Any input is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Just adding, they are pretty much an incuse stamp into the coin, since it's done outside the mint there was no die supporting the other side when it was done so the rev might be slightly damaged or bulged out opposing it.

If it looks raised, that's sort of a crater effect, stamping into the coin raises the metal around it like a crater.

Cool looking counter stamp... There are companies that have counter stamped coins also... Here is a link to a little info that may help http://www.exonumia.com/art/cma.htm Like Ed stated the rev opposite of the stamp is most likely damaged... Can you post a pic of that???
