Error Die Clash/Break | 1985 P, multi Clash event on the reverse only (quad?)

I found this multi Clash on the reverse in a BWR. There do not appear to be any signs of a Clash or die polishing on the obverse , so I believe the obverse had been changed out. It is possible that some of the events may be plating issues but I think there were three or possibly four events.
Bay 3 seems to be the strongest with additional raised areas (in relief) in Bay 2 and 4 as well as 8 and 9. At least 2 lines are located between the roof and m of UNUM. There is also a thin raised Arc starting at the rim and continuing under the top of the first A of America. I believe this Arc is part of the rim. At first I thought this arc was incuse but it is definitely raised and continues under the A.

Thanks for looking and all comments. Cliff

Nice find... There are only 2 clashes listed on the Mad Die Clash site for 1985 - 1 typical http://www.maddieclashes.com/typical...-s-small-cent/ and 1 atypical http://www.maddieclashes.com/atypical-u-s-small-cent/ and yours does not match either... Due to the abrasions and I can not tell if you have any clashes on the obv yours may not be listable??? We would have to have Jason (JCuve) come take a look... It does appear to be a 4 event clash by the rev!!!

Where the back of the neck and jacket clashed it appears the dies were rotated/misaligned/tilted (not sure what you would call it). Also I think you have a clash mark at the A of America from the edge of the vest and also below the M of EPU from the folds of the vest. I agree with Jim, it looks like the dies chattered and struck 4 times! Even with no die clash on the obverse (which is what Jason likes to see I think) this is still a nice die clash find! Keep this one in mind the next time we see Jason on the forum so you can ask him to take a look!

With no obvious abrasions on the close up of Abes bow tie and nose area I do not think this is the matching obv die to the rev... I would expect to have seen abrasions near those areas at a minimum!!!

Exactly what I was thinking Jim, which is why I thought the Obv die had been changed.
There is minimal polishing on the reverse above the left roof line (maybe some other areas outside the building structure.

Even with out the obv match it is still a nice 4 event clash on the rev!!!

This rev clash has a lot going on... I have gone over it numerous times... If I wasn't half bald already I would have been by the time I got these overlays done Really cool clashes... There are 4 events for sure with another 2 possible and maybe a couple more beyond that... I did overlays for 6 clashes... I tried to do pointers but with so many it was actually becoming confusing even with pointers for 2 events on a single image... This is well above my knowledge level but I gave it a shot... I do hope that JCuve chimes in on this one... The area at the AM of AMERICA looks as if it could be related to a clash... It appears to be the edge of the obv die and looks as if it hit twice??? If you zoom in on the pic of the bays you will see that each clash area appears to have more than 1 event and they are really close together... Almost as if the dies were chattering??? Hope ya'll enjoy the pics... Thanks Cliff for letting me look at this for you... I wish the obv culprit had been in place still!!!

A big work out for the old brain... I would get an overlay finished, go on to the next then have to go back and look because items I lined up were lining up again... That's when I realized there has got to be more than 4 events!!!

It's really awesome to see your overlays of this die clash Jim! That is an extreme amount of hard work and I know Cliff appreciate's it very much! What a cool looking die clash, Congrats Cliff! Not only did those dies bounce around, they bounced hard!

Thanks again Jim. I'm going to owe you a whole orange/grapefruit grove before this year is out.

And thanks to Viv, Jon and Ed for your positive input. I'm glad it was actually that many events, because I couldn't tell if there might be pressure ridges or plating issues affecting the actual number of clash events.
Hitting that many times may have caused the obv. die to fail which may mean there are no coins with the obverse die clash. I hope someone finds one tho.
