So sad ... My reverse consumption engine was a broken fuel gauge ... gonna look at coins now. John
There are several to pick from. Could be wrong but I don't think so. (http://americancivilwarrelics.com/Ci...%20Bullets.htm)
This could be a copper nodule. I'm assuming it was found in Arizona.
Here are some for sale .

I would let it be a mystery to add to your detector finds. I like mysteries for conversations. And it can be anything you want it to be, cleaning might show it is just silica bronze slag from welding. Fun stuff.
Even a fool can look wise if he keeps his mouth closed.
Funny that you mentioned that. I know someone that was sure they found a meteorite. It looked like this object but more black not copper and was somewhat magnetic. He brought it to the local university and they determined it was a blob of slag from welding.cleaning might show it is just silica bronze slag from welding.
One thing to see on this object is if it is magnetic at all.
I think a copper jacketed bullet/slug would not be magnetic at all since it's lead/copper.
Copper nodule probably would not be magnetic at all.
A meteorite or slag is likely to be at least slightly magnetic.
