Not sure what to think... other than the reverse was filed down. It looks to have a bowl look to it, like the reverse is bowed up, is it?

Looks flat to me, odd without rim.

Yes it does look odd. I'd have to say it was filed down after it left the mint. If it had any collar showing, possibly a struck through grease, but I'm not sure if a greaser would cause an entire face to not be seen.

This one has me stumped... It may be filed down but with the entire rev gone and such a strong obv strike I would think the coin would weigh well below 2 grams??? To get rid of all the rev devices including the rim and smoothed out by filing half of the coin would be gone??? The obv appears concave and the rev some what convex... Maybe I can find a really bad looking wheatie and do some testing??? Don't want to use a nice DD RPM or MS70 coin
Jim
(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!

It's only taking off the raised rim and raised design, the weight seems reasonable.
Look at old worn 90% silver, you can get a roll of old mercs or barber quarters worn like slugs with no rims that only fill a roll like 70% full and they weigh out 80-90% of normal coins. Coins are illusion, it looks like more depth than there really is to the design.
