That is cool! What is your first language? I think you are doing a great job understanding! I guess it depends upon where you are, if you came to Alabama and heard people talking here it would really be a mess to understand sometimes

JC will email you back, it might take a week or so depending on how busy he is. If he needs additional photos, etc. he will let you know. Congrats for finding these IDB's! Hope that the first one (the larger one) gets listed!

My first language is Spanish and what you just mentioned is so true... Local variations are so different that even in Spanish, I can't understand people from different places when they use their local words and slang... and thinking about it, it happens way more often than what it does in English.
I'll let you all know when JC emails me back.
      Thanks.

Actually I did not notice! You probably know my language better than I do! I will try to keep that in mind and not use slang words or phrases that make it harder to understand, like "on the bubble". I am always impressed with folks who know more than one language considering I have not even mastered my own...

" You probably know my language better than I do!" No way
" I will try to keep that in mind and not use slang words or phrases that make it harder to understand". Actually slang words or phrases are cool and they help me learn... Sometimes when not too isolated, one can guess the meaning.
"considering I have not even mastered my own..." Your English is awesome...
          Thanks

Focusing back in the main subject, I got an email reply from JC. He basically said, that due to the high volume of submissions this year, only die chips greater than 4mm sq will be listed, unless they are in a very special location.
              I'll keep it anyways.
Thanks to all that tried to help. It was a great learning experience for me.

All in time. Stick with it and you will have multiple listings before you know it, just keep doing what you are doing!

Cool... Thanks for the follow up... To me it looks as if the 2nd IDB you posted may be an earlier die state of your original??? Are you able to find any markers??? I would keep them also... Nice finds on both!!!

I do agree, they look like different ages of the same IDB. I don't have enough expertise yet to find markers. Perhaps later on...
                    Thanks

I just found another one with what looks like an earlier stage of the first one I posted??? If the 3 of them are the same die chip, then these coins show how it evolved over time...

I believe this one is from a different die. The chip on this coin is on the upper right side of column 1. While the other two have it on the left side of column 2.

Yes, most likely it is what you are saying, that's a good observation. I'm not good at detecting differences easily yet. I hope that gets better...
These die breaks must be very common at least for the 2005 P, as I have been searching for such a little period of time and have found 3 already.
Thank you so much for your help.

Another nice find... On COC http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-idb-1959-2008/ there are listings for 1993, 1997 and 2000 thru 2008 for the IDBs in B1... Have you checked your 2005s against the listed 2005s to see if yours is an earlier die stage??? The nick name given to the IDBs in the bays is "Hornets Nest"!!!

Thanks for the info. I'll pospone that project of comparing them in detail for the future when I have more practice and knowledge. Right now I'm concentrated in finding as many different types of errors as possible to get familiar with
them and study the details later, its more fun for me to do the learning that way. Yes Vivien told me about the Hornet's Nest nickname for this types of IDBs already.
                                Thanks again.
