    Sorry, can't really tell because when I zoom in the photo is getting blurry. Can you tell us what you are seeing so we can focus on that area?

    I do not see die deterioration. There is some verdigris around the date area that may be removed with acetone. That should make it easier to see.

    Kdowney, if you have any questions about using acetone, just let us know. 100% pure acetone (not fingernail polish) in a small glass container covered with something, a lid or even plastic wrap will help keep it from evaporating. Sometimes just a 15 min or so soak is enough, if not then longer.

    Thank you so much. I'll read up on it. Have never tried it before. I find great BU cents at shows I pick them out of books hardly anybody looks through them. Everybody looks at cases and not the books

    Best I can tell is some PSD (Post Strike Damage) to the 196... If possible a close up of the date/MM would help once you get it cleaned up some!!!
