    1953-D RPM

    Additional Information
    Variety: DDO
    Mint: Denver

Here's an RPM I can't seem to attribute. It seems strong enough to be listable, so I guess I'm just missing it. I believe it's a D/D/D but very subtle. I would need to get a better image to show the tripling.

Your's is in much, much better condition and shows everything but I think it is cc's 025. The position looks good and the polish lines are there but the listed coin is worn greatly not showing the lower split. See what ya think.

I hate to say it but I can not say good job Jon - I must say EXCELLENT job Jon Rays looks to be MDS??? CCs sample is LDS and has the abrasions around the date/MM but are well worn... Nice looking RPM... What makes you think it is a D/D/D???

I see tripling on both serifs under stereo microscope, but it did not come out well with the lighting on my macro station. I need to take some higher power images of the MM to make sure.

I think you are correct... I zoomed in to 500% and I see what appears to be secondary splits on both serifs... The splits are lite but visible on the lower section of the larger splits... The later die stage may have obscured the secondary splits??? You going to post the higher power images??? You may be able to have the designation changed from a D/D to a D/D/D??? Since there are no earlier die states available an EDS may even yield a better version of the secondary split???
