    PCGS Nickel Grading

So I purchased a First Strike 2018 S PR69 DCAM. I am happy with the price I got it for. But after I got my hands on it and inspected it something popped into my mind. My coin has full steps on Monticello. Yet the grade does not show a full steps designation. Is this because:

    1. It is a proof and all proofs have full steps.
    2. It is a first strike and all first strikes have full steps.
    3. PCGS doesn't designate full steps unless you specifically ask them to look for it.
    4. _________ (write in answer here).

I am not 100% on this particular aspect but there are many attributes you do have to ask for and they charge you extra. Going with 3.

They only do it for regular bus strikes and the coin must be MS60 or better.

Ahhh, did not know that. Do they automatically do it on MS business strikes or do you still have to ask for it?

I'm not sure but I think it's free by default.
