Answered: 1994 D Mint Mark Peculiarity

The D mintmark on this coin at first glance appears to have a S overlay. Is it possible to have a D over S for this year? Maybe it is simply some type of damage? As always, I appreciate the knowledge provided by you kind folks.

That will get your attention... Good call on the damage... It looks like plating bubbles but the pics are a little to blurry to tell for sure... The D/S would be impossible as the last year the mint hand punched MMs onto dies was 1989... I believe they went to having the MMs on the master dies???
