    Which rolling machine? The one that rolls out the zinc core?(Not the one rolling the coins into rolls)
    I think those lines result from the production of the zinc core.
    Notice on the second image at the 7:00 & 8:00 position, about two-thirds of the way from the center, there are some incuse marks that would probably still be visible after being struck.

    The one that rolls out the zinc core?
    They would be from when they roll the zinc strip.
    On some coins you can see them after strike especially if it has a flat area on the high points like shoulder or hair.

    Great find Larry!! The second pic looks like there may be some very light design and lettering. It may just be ghost image though.
