    Answered: 2005 P problem

This 2005 P looks weird in the memorial first bay close to the roof. It does not look like a plating problem to me??. Can you comment on this one?
    Thanks.

This is what a normal 2005 P looks like:

That would be an IDB, interior die break. Here is a link. http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-idb-1959-2008/

When you go to the link, scroll down to 2005P and you will see one listing but yours is different. If you follow the directions on the site for emailing pics to JC, you can probably get it listed if it's large enough and have your first listing on Cud on Coins!!

Thank you so much. Very fast answer and very interesting link.

    So this would be:

    -A mint error?
    -Collectible?
    -Valuable?

    Thanks again

Here is the definition from Cuds on Coins http://cuds-on-coins.com/interior-die-breaks/
You might get a couple of dollars on ebay out of it if you found the right buyer but not much. The more extreme the more people will pay though. Cuds bring seem to bring the most. Hop on ebay and search for cuds that have sold, some go for big bucks!

Nice IDB aka hornets nest Coin5! These are classified as an error coin. Here are the instructions for submitting your coin to JC Stevens. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Email images, limit one coin per email, to JCStevens43@Gmail.com.

On the subject line enter date, mint mark and type "which would be IDB"

All images must be in focus and have the proper orientation.

All images should be 800x800 pixels

Send images of the full obverse and reverse making sure none of the edges are cropped off.

Send a close up image of the area of the IDB

If your coin has any die markers images these and in your email note what you see or “No Markers Noted”.

Images should be attached to the email as zip files.

If this is your first submission note the name to be used in the images credit.

And make sure with the full coin images that none of the edges of the coin are cropped or clipped off.
