2016 P new Spike Head and maybe IDB!!

    Additional Information
    Date: 2016

"CAN" Pulled another one out and this time a new Spike and maybe a new IDB!! I didn't realize how few IDB's there were in the shields and we'll see if this one qualifies.

    Thanks for looking, Jon.

Nice find Jon... A definite spike but like you not sure on the IDB... I can not tell from the pic but is the crack on the hair higher on the west side vs the east??? I see what looks like cracks farther to the west but I can not tell if they join up with the larger crack??? If they do and there is a shift then it should be a RIDB???

Added - I change the sub forum to Error Die Crack!!!

Thanks for the follow up pics... That area south of the chip, along the crack, looks raised on the west side I just can not tell if the cracks west of that area actually join up??? To me it looks like a RIDB??? There is no signs of corrosion causing the plating to rise??? JC may need to look at this one in hand???

Thanks for the extra pics... I think I know what is throwing me??? The crack in that area has abnormal circ wear... The metal has been displaced from west to east giving the appearance of a raised section... Almost like some one used the coin as a worry stone... Not a RIDB but still a nice spike and maybe a large enough IDB!!!

Congrats Jon! Nice spike head cent! Let us know when JC lists it! I'm with Jim on the confirmation of the IDB at the top of the hair, may be too small to list but it's still a nice die break! I'm wondering if the stain to the right of the long die crack below it is giving an optical illusion of the west side looking raised?

Thanks Viv!! Yeah, we'll see what JC says, it's not very big though. It looks like there is some separation but I'm not 100% sure.
