    Some heavy die wear!!!

    Additional Information
    Date: 2018D

Came across this last nite in a roll... Mostly for all the new folks that have not come across a well used set of dies... On the full obv/rev pics we can see how concave the coins are making the fields ramp up toward the rims... The devices are thinned from the center out toward the rim and some even thicken up a little closer to the rim... Notice how bad the VDB is on Abes jacket also on the rev the tops of the letters in UNITED STATES appear chopped off... The wear in some locations even makes the devices appear to be outlined... I suspect that a mint worker had a fun time polishing dies in class This is a shiney coin so please forgive the glare... Any one that wished to may download and do what they wish with these images... I was going to add arrows to point every thing out but due to the amount of defects the arrows would have completely covered the coin that and I didn't want to eat a ton of crayons and paste

That's some seriously worn dies Jim! Shows up great on that shiny Denver! Thank you for posting this, what a ridge ring all the way around on both sides of the coin!

Very good example, Jim. Amazing it got to this stage of wear without developing die cracks and chips like are common on shield cents.
