1980 quarter with near perfect reading

Check out his preserved this 1980 quarter is. I it’s only face value, but I think that it’s cool that it stayed in this kind of shape. Pretty uncommon to find a 38 year old quarter this nice with little or no wear. The proper spelling for the edge is reeding, but i definitely know what you mean. It is very nice.

The misspelling Is due to my talk and text. These phones are supposed to be smart phones, but I noticed that they are pretty dumb a lot of times. LOL! Yes I was rather impressed about the condition of this quarter. Especially the reeding.

Very nice quarter Sheila! And the reeding really stands out bold!

Nice find... The only quarters I have seen with reeding that good are the 2018s If the fingers stay attached it may be worth more than face value

Very good looking coin!! I'm thinking that guy was in a 5 gallon water jug for about 35 years or more!

Yes probably in that coin jug for decades.

What you REALLY want to find are some nice 82 and 83 quarters like your 80. They continue to skyrocket in price. The main reason is, few people hoard modern normal clad coins (they hoard state quarters so they'll never be worth much) but the normal clads nobody cared about plus saving quarter rolls costs $10 so people are more likely to hoard cent rolls. So today when collectors put together sets of MS clad they mostly buy uncs that mostly came from cut up mint sets. But the mint did not make mint sets in 82 or 83, they only sold a few souvenir sets (like mint sets) but you only got them if you went to the mint gift shop or took a mint tour so unc 82 and 83 quarters (and even other coins other than the cents) are big prices. The 1980 quarters in MS are only about $2 but those 82 and 83s are going nuts!

Check out Littleton, you'll see the trend:

    $24.00 for the 82-D

    $31.75 for the 82-P

    $38.95 for the 83-D

    $68.50 for the 83-P
