    Thank you so much for the links Jim. Very productive readings...!! These readings make me go back to the plating problem as the cause. I still haven't found the coin; but although it originally looked to me the anomaly bordered the rim and went partially into the side, now that I looked at the pictures again, I don't think it is the case anymore and there is a PSD hit next to the area that confused me at the beginning.

    Glad I could help... I think you are correct on the hit at the rim/edge area... I had one I posted a while back that had a split across the coin and it had a hit at the rim/edge area... The hit appeared to have caused the linear plating blister to break open!!!
