Very nice looking coin Sheila and once again, one that was more than likely in a box or desk drawer until recently.

    Like the quarter you found.
    Certain years go crazy.

On the Kennedy halves. The 71-D is the well known mint set only modern half but the 87-P and D were also only in mint sets and none circulated the normal way so they do well.

The other key but you probably won't get it in change is the 98-S satin, they were only in some special sets (I think with a satin nickel) and went up in price like crazy to $100-400 depending on grade.

Wow! That is nice price jump! That would definitely be a nice find. I read about the 71-D on somewhere on one website. But I have can’t recall anything about the 87. Probably because I was just glancing around. Thank you for that information.
