Hi I'm Adam W. And I've been studying and collecting for under two years. Within the last few months I couldn't work cause of health reasons and decided if I had to be laid up I'd use my time to really dig in and study numismatics. I'm actually into all kinds of coins and even tokens and all kinds of coins like objects. Lincoln cents are my go to however simply because I can get so many coins to examine for well litterally pennies. My mom even made me an Abraham Lincoln Quilt. I'll have to share a photo of that one day soon I really think you all will like it. Well I've been laid up like I said so I've really had nobody to collect and trade with or to exchange information and ask questions. But I'm going to my first coin show this month in Flint, MI. They have one just about once a month. I'm sure it's pretty small but that doesn't mean it won't be awesome. I'm probably going to table with all the really affordable varieties I've found that I'm %100 sure about. Mostly RPM's and lesser known doubled dies but I'm pretty proud of the work I've put into it and I'm printing out my USB microscope photos to go with the coins so if someone wants to buy a VF or XF circulated example of a particular variety from my table for like a dollar or two, or a trade, they will also get a paper with pictures showing the doubling or RPM close up, and also showing the secondary attributing features. I'm mostly just proud of the work I've put into studying these coins and honestly if anyone seems to appreciate that I don't really care if they buy one or if they just want to pick one out. I figure that's a good way to tabley first small coinshow. I would have to accidentally sell something and it not be what I thought it was. So I'm just bringing those lower grade examples and having lots of photos so we can look at them together and maybe I learn something from the old timers. I'm pretty sure it's a group of older gentleman and some ladies also who have been meeting there once a month for who knows how long. They probably have lots to teach me if I'm willing to listen and I'm pretty good with people. Okay long introduction post but just thought I'd let y'all get to know me. My knowledge level is just above novice in my opinion but I'm becoming the guy who all my friends and family asks coin questions now :-). I feel like I've passed my freshman year of coin college and I'm about to start sophomore year.
New kid in the forums thanks :)

Welcome to the LCF Adam!! Very cool that you have gotten that into coins in a couple of years!! I dabbled in other denominations but have had a great time with the Lincolns as it sounds like you do too! Hate you're laid up but it sounds like you're making good use of your time. Good luck at the coin show, you'll have to let us know how you do. Look forward to seeing your finds too. -
Welcome Adam and I think you are right about people here being interested in seeing the quilt.

Welcome!
At most coin shows there are lots of coin collectors but fewer variety collectors.
It's good for cherrying varieties, ok for selling the bigger ones but ebay might be better for selling the minor less known varieties.
Hope to hear how it goes and welcome to the forumComment

Adam, Welcome to the group. I must say I have never had the courage to set up a table at coin show and trust me, I have been to many shows. But thats what it takes to get involved, educated yourself and and enjoy the hobby at a level you have already demonstarted you want to undertake. Good luck with your health, and show and we look forward to seeing those cents!
