This page at Doubleddies.com may help it "click".
There is lots on information (too much for one or even two sittings). Scroll to the end of "Multiple Squeeze Hubbing Era" for links to each Class/type of doubling.
(Bookmark the page and come back to it to refresh the mind when needed.)
Doubleddies.com Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7 ,8 Doubled Dies LINK .
(I believe Class 9 doubling is used solely by Coppercoins.com for doubling in the single squeeze era.)

Circulation hits and dings make it hard to tell which existing variety yours might be.
Closest one as far as I can tell is on Variety Vista DDO-010 LINK . (click on the highlighted link to the left to view the VV listing)
Mint mark location may be correct, and the best indicator, but the only marker shown for this variety on VV is a small die chip in the lower right wheat ear, due east of the cross bar of the last A in AMERICA. I don't see it on your example but you may be able to, since you have it in hand.
(Remember, if your example is this variety and was struck before that marker showed up on the die, this marker will not be present on your coin. MM location is the best indicator.)
Coppercoins has missing images of some varieties but they seem to be doubled eyelids.
Doubleddies has a lot of varieties that are not imaged (#002 - #022)

It looks possible for 010. The MM position is sort of odd and looks about the same. Nice if some markers match.
That die is a pretty typical class 6. It's got the wide tail on the 9, some curves on the verticals of liberty, the ski ramp on the lower horizontal of the E of we. Those should all show on your coin. Still, those aren't like markers because most class 6 DDOs show in those areas but if you see all of that then you know it is a class 6 DDO.

The red is most likely from a poor cleaning of a nice brown??? Check out the E of WE... The lower horizontal bar should have what looks like a small ski jump upwards at the east end just like the E on CCs 003 http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diest...&die_state=mds The MM location and shape of the 9 look to match!!!

I think the rust red color is from being exposed to iron, buried with iron junk for a while or in soil with iron content. Anything that exposed it to something that was rusting.
