Were these rolls bank wrapped or consumer wrapped?
I find it odd that the mint designated to produce the best of the nation's coinage (Proofs) would add a step to deface ,and add production cost to the rest.

So sad ... My reverse consumption engine was a broken fuel gauge ... gonna look at coins now. John
My guess is that they were shipped from San Francisco on a freight train and joggled/jiggled in a mint bag all the way to a Cincinnati or Dayton, Ohio bank, where they were then hand wrapped by a bank employee wearing latex gloves. There is no sign of being touched by human hand on any of the coins.

I can't really explain it, neither! ..... but I was very disappointed to see so many poor quality coins from a mint that were never in circulation.BadThad: Never heard of this....please explain.
