Sad news. The CPG and JT and FSs love for varieties got a lot of us into the hobby and helped us get started.

Found out early this afternoon through CONECA and was shocked to hear the news. We are trying to find out more info but still have nothing to add. An early pioneer and advocate for our hobby and a name to remember.

I won the '2nd edition of Cherrypickers' Guide' at the Christmas dinner of the Milwaukee Numismatic Society in 1985ish.

Mr. Stanton and his partner turned me from an occasional change checker into a terror at the banks. Always asking if they had a bag of coins off the counting machine for me.

Or worse, them seeing me in line, on a Saturday, with two bags of coins for counting and return. (Until I just went on weekdays in the AM)

    You will be missed!

I just posted some biographical information on JT courtesy of Bill Fivaz on the CONECA home page if anyone wants to read more about JTs accomplishments and passing.

Peter, Thanks but I'm not able to find the info at the link you provided. Is there another tab to click?

It's a few inches down on that home page to the right of the obituary and picture of long time CONECA member Lee Gong who also passed away recently.

    Thank you.
Evidently I should have scrolled down a little further.
Great tribute that shows how much he did in addition to numismatics.

I added his image to the obituary to make it easier to locate on the page and hope that helps a little. His accomplishments in numismatics go on and on and I'm sure we'll see more being written about him in the coming months.
