    1938 DDR-003 in PCGS PR65RD

    Additional Information
    Date: 1938
    Variety: DDR
    Mint: Philadelphia
    Coneca: DDR-003

Here's a nice 1938 DDR cherrypick in a PCGS PR65RD holder. The DDR can be seen in the auction photos if you look carefully at the EPL as well as the wheat stalks. This one matches DDR-003 in roughly Stage B. Cost around average price for the grade, but $130 is never a coin I would call cheap.

Very nice pick Dan... Comparing yours with VVs http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20D...938PDDR003.htm I think yours could be a Stage A??? On VVs Stage B Both dots in EPU are gone but on yours they are still visible... Also On Stage B EPU is thin considerably yet yours is still full devices with the DD easily visible especially noticeable on EPL!!!

I agree with you on all accounts Dan. Nice find, especially on a proof DDR.
Those early proofs don't get through the system inexpensively.

Very nice pick and attribution, I would have never caught that!! Looks to be a good buy for that variety though and you couldn't really go wrong with the grade backing up the dollars spent.
