This is a very nice 1968 S with MD that I have never seen before, when I first glance at it I thought wow a double die, but then oh this is MD with a worn out die. Looks like it has been struck a couple of times maybe more. Not sure what kind of MD it is. Both sides has some sort of MD on it. Please have a look you might like it. I agree with you Dan! This is a very nice looking 68S and that MD really cut into the devices! I wonder if the MD shows up so well on this one because it doesn't have much circulation wear?

Thanks for the correction, I was looking at a D coin just before I posted this one. You are right, it doesn't show a lot of circulation wear, and it looks like it's been struck more than once also in some places the MD is a little smeared like the die was a little loose. I like this one it's in good shape most of them are all beat up from circulation. Thank you for looking, haven't found a lot, I picked up a box and half of them were new 2018 Ds, I turn those right back to my bank, I don't think anyone has found a lot in them....................Dan

You're welcome Dan! Yep, I agree with you on all accounts... MD and a worn die combo! But it sure is a nice looking 68S!

Oh no... you got a box of mostly 2018D's! I don't blame you for handing those right back to the teller... You're right, nothing found for 2018D so unless you are in Discovery mode and have a lot of extra time... I'd opt for some other rolls too!

Nice MD. MD comes from shifting and die chatter, not being struck more than once. Don't forget, it's "doubled" die!!

That's cool looking Dan!! The way it slid, it has what looks like extra metal in some areas where it pushed it up on top of the devices. Neat find!
