1919 Micro S "Mysterious $5 in winged liberty dimes"
I received $5 in winged liberty dimes and found this really worn but still cool 1919 micro s winged liberty dime They were mostly 40's but had about ten 30's also. I don't have a clue where they came from or who sent them... didn't see a return address but it made my day I'm assuming that was the goal lol I get excited about anything silver or gold, no matter how little the value
Congratulations on find in the group. I'm with you on the silver.
Sounds like Santa's elves have been working on a summer project to spread some joy all year!
Very cool. I have a couple of the Micro S Mercury dimes, but they are both 1945S. These actually have an FS (Cherry Pickers Guide) number of FS-10-1945S-512.

I didn't see it listed on PCGS, so I had to do some research to make sure it was a micro lol I finally found some info on that year tho Yup, that's where I started out wanting to find one 'til I noticed how small the one was on the 1919s and it peeked my curiosity or if I was just imagining it lol

Yup, it really caught me off guard, in a good way...I may have to do something like that one day, I wonder if it had something to do with all the coins that dealers were releasing, in June was it... and just randomly picked me when I ordered something?
Nice... I can't find any info for the micro S on the 1919S??? The only MMS I have found for the 1919S 10c was VVs MMS-002 (Small)... PCGS has some really nice looking ones on their site and now I must soak up all the drool from my computer

I couldn't for my life find where I found that the other night but I posting some pics for you to compare and see if I'm seeing right lol sometimes I don't trust these eyes, I might be wrong, again lol... If it is tho, maybe I have one of a kind
I don't know of a 1919 micro S. The one called micro S is only on 1945-S dimes.
1917 has a smaller MMS-001 and the slightly bigger MMS-002.
1918 and 1919 only have the slightly bigger MMS-002.
Finding anything else would be a new discovery like if you found MMS-001 on a 1919-S.
(it's not a huge difference and would be hard to see, not as extreme as the 45-S and micro S)
So, trying to solve this.
When you decided it is small/micro what were you comparing it to? Was it a later date S mint?
If that's the case then it's normal, the later dates are much bigger except the 45-S micro.
And with anything, a stronger punch will look bigger, a polished one will look smaller.
