    1972 Silver Dollar

Im trying to see what all is going on, on this coin? In the date the 2 looks doubled? His ear has a die chip, I think? In the same pic he has a rogue hair sticking out? The eagles left claw appears to have four front claws and the bottom of his neck is cracking are the ones I remember? Any help on these will be appreciated

I don't see anything out of the norm here. The "2" is MD, what you see as an extra claw is just a worn die and filled in between and the rest looks to PSD.

I agree with makecents on most of it, but it looks like there may be some doubling on the two stars, and the marks between AMERICA and the stars are odd. They look like the bottoms of part of the letters. Just guessing it is some grease deposit. You might try a posting over at The Ike Group http://www.ikegroup.info/

Nice pics... You are doing good with the scope... Like Jon said the 2 is MD and there is some MD along the inside of the rim there... The claw could be a chip by the looks of it??? The area near the L is from the edge of another reeded coin banging into most likely what we call a bag ding... The edge of the neck looks like a split in the metal like a void opening up similar to a lamination peel??? The ear and back of the head are PSD... Something hit it and displaced some metal... On the area between the stars I'm not sure as I can not tell if they are in relief or incuse??? Almost looks like another bag ding but may be a clash remnant??? Can you get a full obv/rev pics??? As for the doubling of the stars I think it is PSD from a hit... On the west star follow the line of the apparent separation toward the mark in the field and it lines up like a hit then arcs up somewhat toward the edge of the C that also shows damage... Hope that helps a bit... There is a lot to take in!!!
