Welcome to the forum!! That is a coin someone took time to use a hydraulic press and cut out areas from one coin and put them back into another coin that also had the areas pressed out of it. Interesting!!

Welcome to the LCF! Somebody had lots of time on their hands and had some fun with that Lincoln! Reminds me of a puzzle with pieces that don't fit!

Nice to have you join us! Have fun searching through Lincoln's and let us know if we can be of any help!

What I thought was interesting was it had 1956d stamped twice on it.

Which tells you the insert pieces came from other coins, not only the one coin.

People do strange stuff, they even make puzzles from cutting coins up.

You do understand they were not stamped on them, right? The areas you are seeing that are different are literally from a different coin or coins and put into this one.

Oh yeah. I have popped them out and rearranged them. Just never seen anything like it before.

In the short time I have been dealing with Lincolns, I have not either. The fact they did as good a job as they did on this is amazing for something so small!
