    1959 LMC close/wide Am confused??

Need some help understanding normal vs. variety "AMs". Per "Close AM / Wide AM" 1959-1992 should have WIDE AM. I have a 1959 close AM and search results state that a 1959 Close AM is just a different die considered normal. So is the statement that 1959-1992 should be Wide AM misleading??

Thanks for any comments!!1959 LMC Close AM Reverse-ccfopt.jpg1959 LMC Close AM Obverse-ccfopt.jpg

Your 1959 is a wide AM.
The space on both sides of the M are almost equal.

That is the normal 59 reverse, it's RDV-001.

The more they polish the die the wider the gap can get but yours has a gap and looks normal.

What we call a "close AM" reverse was a design that was not used untill 1992. Within the reverse designs that were used up till this point there can be a slight variance in the spacing of the A and the M from die to die . This is caused by die deterioratiom or over zealous abrading of individual dies.
Close AM is a description that just simply does not apply to coins mint before 1992.

            Maybe this will help - Wide A M = A M E and Close AM = AM E
