I don't know Sheila. I can see some extra thickness but everything I see points to die deterioration. Let's see what the others say.

The Y in LIBERTY is mainly what made me think that it might be doubled. I am not sure about the rest mostly.

No for sure on the rev... Not to sure on the obv??? Did you take a good look at Wexlers DDO-001 and 005 http://doubleddie.com/828781.html Yours has some similarities compared to 001 and 005 but I am not 100% sure???

Maybe send Bob a PM to come have a look??? The west arm of the Y in LIBERTY looks like it is worn away thru polishing and not doubling??? Some of the other stuff looks promising to me!!!

This does not appear to be a doubled die Sheila. As we know, many of the 1982 LD dies were crap and used way too long. I think everything on your coin points to die deterioration and a lot of die polishing is evident. The thinning on the Y of LIBERTY is really insignificant and most likely from being grease filled or abraded.

Thank you Bob! Yes, I see that the 80’s has some very bad dies going on. Thank you for your help. Great explanation!
